As the group
continues to put the finishing touches on its eagerly awaited new album,
the Backstreet Boys have settled on a title and release date for the
effort, as well as its first single.
Sources tell MTV News
that the Boys will deliver "Black And Blue," their third studio
album, to stores on November 21. Fans will get a taste of the new LP on
October 3 when the first single, "Shape Of My Heart," hits
radio.
The group gave fans
their first glimpse of what awaits on the album last month with "It's
True," a new track included on a series of CDs made available through
Burger King (see Backstreet
Boys Say 'It's True' On Burger CDs"). That song turned up
on a series of three CDs released by the fast-food chain that also
included live Backstreet material.
While the rest of the
new album remains under wraps, Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean has said that
fans can expect to see various influences, from rock and R&B to
hip-hop and country (see "Backstreet's
A.J. Dishes On New Record").
The disc will also
find the Boys once again teaming with pop mastermind Max Martin, who
produced the group's first two albums, as well as tracks for 'NSYNC and
Britney Spears.
